My Journey so far

My path to instructional design has been shaped by a diverse blend of science, education, communication, and creativity.

I hold a Master's degree in Plant Science and a Bachelor's degree in Education. My professional journey has taken me through customer service, business operations, classroom teaching, and community volunteering. While each role was different, they all strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, solve problems thoughtfully, and support people in meaningful ways.

Five years of volunteering with cooperative preschools ultimately set the direction of my career. Whether I was designing event banners, creating an end-of-year class slideshow during the COVID-19 pandemic, or developing a class yearbook, I discovered that I was most fulfilled when combining creativity with meaningful communication. Seeing those projects resonate with teachers and families helped me recognize the kind of work that truly energized me.

When I discovered instructional design, everything fell into place. Rather than feeling like a new direction, it felt like the natural intersection of everything I had been building throughout my journey.

Analytical thinking from science. Learner focus from teaching. Creativity from design.

Instructional design was where they finally met.

My Design Philosophy

I believe learning should be clear, purposeful, and engaging. My goal is to create experiences that reduce complexity, encourage curiosity, and help learners build confidence. Every design decision should support understanding while keeping the learner at the center of the experience.
