In diverse workplaces, communication styles don't always look the same — and acting on assumptions instead of understanding can turn a small issue into a real problem. Bridging the Gap puts learners in the role of a team lead who must decide how to address a quiet, reserved team member without jumping to conclusions

It's easy for a manager to misread silence as disengagement, especially when communication styles differ across cultures. Without pausing to observe and understand the situation, a well-meaning leader can reach the wrong conclusion — and act on it.
Learners step into the role of Siya, a team lead at Nexus Solutions, and meet the two team members at the center of the story — Amir, a hardworking new hire, and Sarah, a direct communicator and senior team member.
When Sarah raises a concern that Amir never speaks up in meetings, learners choose how Siya responds: confront Amir directly or observe one more meeting before acting .
Each path leads somewhere different, showing learners what can happen when a leader acts on an assumption instead of taking time to observe and understand the situation.
The closing “What Did We Learn?” screen summarizes the experience into three takeaways:
Observe before you judge.
Culture shapes communication.
Inclusive leaders adapt.
I planned, wrote, and built Bridging the Gap in Articulate Storyline 360 — from character and scenario development to the branching decision logic behind each path.
